Fugitive gangster Ejaz Lakdawala’s ‘bid’ on Oshiwara builder’s life foiled, 3 nabbed

Mumbai: The city crime branch foiled fugitive gangster Ejaz Lakhdawala's alleged attempt to murder a city-based builder in Oshiwara on Sunday for failing to cough up the Rs 2 crore extortion amount and for not taking his international calls.

Sources said the builder, who is also into a furniture business, had a narrow escape after the crime branch got a tip-off at the nick of time and arrested two men, identifed as Ankush Indulkar and Sagar Chavan, outside the victim's Oshiwara residence.

Their interrogation led to the arrest of their accomplice, Sagar Chavan alias Saggi, who reportedly provided logistical support, including collecting information about the victim's movement and conducting a recce of the area. The police recovered a weapon from them and have now provided a security cover to the victim.
